PCEC Accomplishments

With support from Beacon Community Services, Saanich School District, and PLAY we have:

developed connections with community agencies including Camosun College, Common Ground, Vancouver Island Preschool Assn., NIL/Tu,O, Tsartlip Brighter Futures, Panorama Recreation Centre and Vancouver Island Regional Library, a proposed family center at Saanichton School, Queen Alexandra Hospital for Children, and Native Friendship Centre
hosted 3 annual early childhood resource fairs (Children Count) in spring 2005, 2006 and 2007 in partnership with Beacon Community Services and Saanich School District and with support from Thrifty Foods
celebrated National Child Day with a community event in November 2006, and in 2007 with support from Peninsula Co-op
produced the Peninsula Parks and Play Spaces Map with funding from Success by 6
hosted 3 successful 'Play Days in the Parks' in May 2007 (at Tulista and Centennial Parks and Cordova Bay schoolgrounds) with support from Peninsula Co-op.
